Description

Recently I have been getting fed up with Fandoms. Here's why
Shipping Wars: I don't ship anyone yet people take their shippings seriously. This is quite common in the larger fandoms.
People bashing you if you have fan characters: There are some cases where fan characters are required e.g: If you were writing a Hunger Games fanfiction set before the 74th Games, or a Harry Potter fanfiction set in the "Founders Era" or "The Old History Era". Yet if you include fan characters in a fanfiction you get bashed for it.
People ranting about how the series ended: This is quite common in the Harry Potter fandom, but recently I found someone on Tumblr complaining about the ending to "Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy". Their reason concerns a character who dies at the end of the game. *Spoilers* Aurora was created by the Azran for a reason: To send a message to the people of the future that if the people of the future get too arrogant that they will suffer the same fate as the Azran people did. Her mission was to judge humanity and whether they are worthy of being the Azran's successors. Humanity has to either treat Aurora as one of their own or use her to unlock the Legacy. When Bronev "murdered" Aurora, in the eyes of the Azran, humanity wasn't worthy of following in their footsteps. When the four main characters and Bronev stepped into the beams of light, humanity was redeemed. *Spoilers end*  Creators have a right to end the series to how they want it.
Character bashing: This is one of my pet peeves when it comes to fandoms. I have seen Ginny Weasley, Flora Reinhold, Dawn from Pokemon and countless others getting bashed for the silliest reasons. Most of the time over shipping or for various reasons.
People taking fandoms seriously: This is quite common in the Tolkien fandom. Fandoms are supposed to be fun, not be taken seriously. That's what is putting me of fandoms, the fact people criticise you if you do things different to those who treat fandom as a "Country Club".
People killing characters they hate: This is one of the most immature things in fandom today. I may hate Don Paulo and Leon Bronev but do I wish to kill them? No. I have seen people write Harry Potter fan fiction where the authors kill off the characters they hate in brutal ways. If I don't like a character I don't write about them. I admit, I used to hate Descole until Azran Legacy. *Spoilers* Descole's parents were kidnapped by Targent, his brother was adopted and he wanted revenge on both Targent and the Azran. His father was on the verge of making a breakthrough on the lost Civilisation when he and his wife was kidnapped. *Spoilers*
Canon Purists: They bash you if you write a fan fiction which doesn't fit into how they see "Canon". I have seen them bash people in the Hunger Games fandom for "not writing about tributes in the 74th Games" hang on a minute. You have to veer into Alternate Universe territory if you write about a tribute that died. I have seen people who have written about deceased tributes well.
At the end of the day, fandom is for fun
